Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! In this time of grace, I am calling all of you to open your hearts to God's mercy, to begin a new life through prayer, penance and a decision for holiness. This time of spring moves you to a new life, to a renewal, in your thoughts and hearts. Therefore, little children, I am with you to help you to say 'yes' to God and to God's commandments with resoluteness. You are not alone; I am with you through the grace which the Most High gives me for you and your descendants. Thank you for having responded to my call." (March 25, 2017)

This message is a great word of encouragement!! We are in the middle of Lent. Our little Lenten practices are beginning to annoy us! Our spirits may be down. We may have failed to live up to our expectations for Lent. And so, here we are, needing to be lifted up.

Our Lady is doing just that. Listen to her motherly heart urging us to keep trying:

"In this time of grace, I am calling all of you to open your hearts to God's mercy, to begin a new life through prayer, penance and a decision for holiness." The first step is to open our hearts to God's mercy. Nothing will be achieved if we live this Lent on our own steam. We cannot change ourselves. Only God's merciful love can change us! But we have to ask for help, through prayer, penance and a firm decision to change. We have to ask for the grace to change. God will give it.

"This time of spring moves you to a new life, to a renewal, in your thoughts and hearts." Spring is a time of new birth. What better time to seek a new birth of faith in our thoughts and hearts. Our old habits, our old thought patterns, the self-defeating assumptions we have about ourselves and about life, all have to go. Spring tells us it is time to change!

"Therefore, little children, I am with you to help you to say 'yes' to God and to God's commandments with resoluteness." Our Lady tells us that she is with us. To help us! Help us to do what? To say 'yes' to God and His commandments. Who better to show us how to say 'yes' to God than Mary, the Mother of God. Her Fiat changed history. She can help us change our own histories! By saying 'yes' to God and His commandments, the rules He gave us to make us happy!

"You are not alone; I am with you through the grace which the Most High gives me for you and your descendants." And here is the best news of all. Our Lady is with us because God has sent her to us with graces galore for us, and not only for us but for our descendants!!! This is big news! Our Lady is giving us a future through God's grace. And our descendants will also have her by their side. We are not alone!!! Our Lady is with us!

So, if you are not too happy these days, cheer up! We have the Queen of Heaven with us to help us change, grow, learn to love, and live God's commandments!! We have a Mother who will not leave us. We are blessed!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV March 28, 2017 Reflection - Hail Mary, Full of Grace!

March 28, 2017

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! In this time of grace, I am calling all of you to open your hearts to God's mercy, to begin a new life through prayer, penance and a decision for holiness. This time of spring moves you to a new life, to a renewal, in your thoughts and hearts. You are not alone; I am with you through the grace which the Most High gives me for you and your descendants. Thank you for having responded to my call." (March 25, 2017)

"Therefore, little children, I am with you to help you to say 'yes' to God and to God's commandments with resoluteness." There is no one else who can better help us to say 'yes' to God! Our Lady is the perfect example, held aloft by the Father for us to emulate. She can help us learn to say 'yes' to the Lord in every situation. We have only to turn to her for strength and discernment!

Fr. Leon gave an astounding homily on the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord. He explained so many things about Our Lady and Jesus so clearly. I would like to share the transcript today. It deserves a very careful reading!!

Fr. Leon Pereira, Homily at English Mass in Medjugorje, March 25, 2017:

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

The Liturgy around Christmas time calls Our Lady "You who have destroyed all the surrounding heresies." It is a very strange thing to say. But also a beautiful thing to say about Our Lady. Our Lady is the Destroyer of Heresies. And she is the Destroyer of Heresies by simply being who and what she is. Because she is the Mother of God. Full stop. Period, as the Americans might say. Because she is the Mother of God.

Now every heresy in the end is the denial that Jesus is truly human. Or it is the denial that He is truly God. Or a denial that He is both. Every heresy in the end boils down to this. But Our Lady is the guarantee of this truth. That the Word became flesh. Became flesh of her flesh, and was born of her. Therefore, she is the Destroyer of all Heresies. And we need her intercession especially in our own time when men, as Scripture says, have itching ears and run after all sorts of strange doctrines.

Now the idea that God became a baby is a strange one. In all the pagan kind of myths, the gods who become human - for example in Hinduism the Avatars as we say in English, the Avatarum in Sanskrit - it just means that they take on a human appearance, they live among human beings and have adventures, and when it is all done they go back up to heaven and abandon their physical bodies. So in a way it is not really an incarnation at all. It's kind of playing a little joke. And at the end of it you go back up. It's a bit like you as an adult when you are playing with children, you can be childish and play with them. And then when you finish the game you go back to being an adult. You were never a child; you were never one of them. Ever. (Well a long time ago but you have forgotten what it is to be innocent.)

But when God becomes a human being, He does this really and truly. In a serious way, He does not abandon His body. He rises again from the dead, still with the holes in His hands and feet. And then He takes His body and human soul up to heaven to the right hand of the Father at the Ascension. So Jesus shows that He takes our physicality seriously.

Why does He do this? Could God have saved us in another way? Did Jesus have to die on the Cross? Well He's God, right? And God can do anything? He can save us any way He wants. But what does Scripture tell us, "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son." The word 'so' there meaning 'thus'. God loved the world 'this way', that He gave His Son to die for us on the Cross. That's how God loves us. He could have done it any way, but He chose this way.

And He shows us therefore, He shows us therefore that our bodies are serious matters. He takes our physicality seriously. It is not a joke to Him.

In Christian tradition we piously believe - you know the beginning of the Letter to the Hebrews, it says that God brings His Son forth and tells the angels, now let all the angels of God worship Him. And we piously believe that this is when Lucifer and all the angels that followed him rebelled. They said, "No, You shouldn't become a man! You shouldn't be born of a woman! Implicit in this is that Lucifer was saying, "I will never say to a woman, "Hail full of grace!" And this, we piously believe, is the rebellion of Satan and the demons. A rejection of the Incarnation!

So it is no surprise that in our world today, the blasphemies uttered against Our Lady arise because they are demon inspired, demon goaded. Terrible things said about Our Lady. But also the rejection of the Incarnation.  How is the incarnation rejected in our modern world?   Whenever you see body and soul divided, so they pretend that we are just mostly souls and our bodies are irrelevant, so they talk about reincarnation and all that sort of thing.  Or they pretend we are just bodies without souls: do what you like, more or less.  It's your body.  Your body is your instrument, do what you like with it, have a tattoo, pierce it in all sorts of disgusting places and all that business.  Or the separation of body and soul in our philosophies, in illnesses, anorexia, bulimia, in illnesses of the soul, pornography. All of these things are rejections of the Incarnation.  All of them are leaning towards the devil saying, "I will never say to a woman, 'Hail full of grace.' And that's why we say "Hail full of grace!  The Lord is with you."  The Lord is with you as a baby, with human hands and human feet and a human heart - a divine human heart.

This is what we are saying: the glory and joy of being able to say a single Hail Mary.  Isn't it marvelous!  This is what the demons will not and cannot say.  But we, through the Holy Spirit can say this.  And we are made sharers of this joy.  Something new comes into being when Our Lady says, "Behold I am the Handmaid of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to your word."

Do you remember, how does Genesis begin?  God says, "Let there be light."  "Fiat."  "Let there be light.  And a new creation comes into being.  When Our Lady says, "Let it be done to me," again "fiat."  A new creation comes into being. And just in case you've missed it, Luke tells us, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you." Where have you heard that before?  The Holy Spirit will overshadow you.  It's one word in Hebrew... "RHP" (RaHap)....  It means: like a bird, a mother hen brooding over something - over her chicks, but in this case brooding over the waters.  Genesis: The Holy Spirit broods over the waters and everything comes to be.  In the same way, the Holy Spirit broods over Our Lady and a new creation comes into being when she says "Fiat".

The Annunciation is an astounding dialogue.  It is a conversation between God - a courteous conversation - between God and a human being, saying, "Would you kindly be the mother of my Son?"  And she says, "I am your servant, I am your slave.  Be it done unto me according to your word."  It's a beautiful conversation.  And He tells us for our sake, He greets Our Lady for what she is.  He says, "Hail full of grace."  In Greek you could I suppose translate as, "Rejoice gorgeous! - Rejoice beautiful one! - Rejoice grace filled one!"  And He tells her this for our sake because through her God has destroyed all the heresies and will continue to destroy every single one of them until the end of time.  In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen!

One comment. What Father says is so powerful!! It occurred to me that the Rosary IS the most powerful prayer besides the Mass. With every Hail Mary, we are aiming a blow at the head of Satan, because we say and believe what He rejected. (The late Fr. Gabriel Amorth -exorcist- always said this!) He lost heaven and all hope because he could not accept the Incarnation nor the Woman who made it possible. And so our prayer of the Rosary is a great protection and weapon against evil. Isn't God amazing!

Mary TV March 27, 2017 Reflection - The man born blind...

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
March 27, 2017

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! In this time of grace, I am calling all of you to open your hearts to God's mercy, to begin a new life through prayer, penance and a decision for holiness. This time of spring moves you to a new life, to a renewal, in your thoughts and hearts. Therefore, little children, I am with you to help you to say 'yes' to God and to God's commandments with resoluteness. You are not alone; I am with you through the grace which the Most High gives me for you and your descendants. Thank you for having responded to my call." (March 25, 2017)

Our Lady calls us to begin a new life, to open our hearts to God's mercy! The Gospel for the 4th Sunday of Lent was about the man born blind, and how Jesus gave him a whole new life when he gave him a new capacity for sight. We need to have such new sight in order to live our new life as well. Fr. Leon explained this process so well in his homily, that I had to transcribe it!

Fr. Leon Pereira's homily for March 26, 2017 in Medjugorje:

The Gospel we heard does not tell the healing of a blind man as we find in the other Gospels, but of a man blind from birth. What's the difference? I can imagine losing my sight. And though it is hard to appreciate the courage it would require to live in the world with the loss of what is so easily taken for granted. But how does a person born blind experience the world.   How does he imagine the other things perceived with the other senses? Things they have never seen or looked upon.

That the man in this Gospel is born blind is not a peripheral detail. He has not lost a capacity for light. He did not have it from the beginning. He does not deal with light, darkness, shadow and reflection. Jesus will not restore sight to this man. He will grace him with a capacity that he never had.

This miracle does not point just to the restoration of our human nature, but also to its total recreation. It says, "Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind." What Jesus is to do will bear resonance on the very beginning of creation. He will reach into the very origins of human beings, and do something that has never been done before. He will restore their capacity for the light which shines in the darkness.

Just as God made man from the dust of the ground, so Jesus makes the man who was born blind receive his sight through the dust of the Jerusalem street and forms him anew. Just as the first man, Adam, received the breath of life and became a living being, so this man is anointed with dust mixed with spittle from the mouth of Jesus, and becomes transformed beyond recognition.

His neighbors will ask of him, "Is this the man who used to sit and beg in our street?" As Jesus was manifested after his Resurrection, the man born blind, once he has his sight is not easy to recognize. So deep and profound is the transformation that has happened to him.

Now up until this time the man born blind is passive, he is a passive witness in the whole story. He is almost like the earth in Genesis, "formless and void." But now he has found his voice, he begins to speak for himself. His parents refuse to answer him. His present state is different from anything he received from them.

This is like ourselves. You have children and you give them life, even though you know that life doesn't come from you. And you bring them to church and have them Baptized, and they receive something they could never have received from you - eternal life! And later when they grow up and they are confirmed, they answer for themselves, just like the man born blind.

And the man born blind answers the questions of the Pharisees. Because with his sight he has an increase in insight into who Jesus is, without yet having seen Jesus. So the man who owes his new being not to his parents, or to his pedigree in the law of Moses, but to the sudden unearned gift of the encounter with Jesus. Falling down to worship Jesus, he recognizes Him not just as the source of his sight, but more importantly as the origin of a whole new way of being.

In Jesus, we are elevated to a new life. As the man born blind received a new capacity, a new way of experiencing the world, so too do we receive a new capacity for a deeper way of life. To come to experience the material world all around us in the unfamiliar light of Jesus who is forever the light of the world.

When we say the things we say, like "Our Father", this is one of the most extraordinary things we can say. Not simply because God is a father to us and we think we have a personal relationship with Him. But because when we say, "Our Father" it is literally true. God is not our father in a metaphorical sense alone, He really is our Father. We who are the creatures of his hand who never deserved anything from Him, who are made simply out of love, He makes his children, and by the Holy Spirit raises up to be friends with God. This is absolutely extraordinary!

If we are friends of God, then everything we do in the world is suddenly different.  You see, sin is easy.  And sin is boring.  Everything under the sun is a repetition of what has come before.  We only take a mishmash of old stuff and put it in new configurations, and make what we think are new sins.  But they are the same old stuff.  The only thing that is new is the thing that comes from beyond the sun.  The Son of God Himself!  And if He gives us life, we truly have new life.

Our first parents in the Garden had their eyes opened when they sinned.  They saw how far we had fallen from God.  They saw their nakedness and they were ashamed.  But we have our eyes opened in a new way, just as the disciples at Emmaus.   When they saw the Lord in the Scriptures and in the breaking of bread, and then they recognized Him.  And we perceive the new clothing of our humanity is with the Divine nature.

These are not metaphors I'm using.  I mean this literally.  We are clothed with Divine nature.  What does that mean?  Ponder it.  Because it's the most extraordinary thing in the world.  We have received this new capacity for new life in our Baptism when the Lord Himself anointed us with His Holy Spirit.  But this capacity in us weakens through sin.

Original sin is a bit like a straw.  If you bend it and it has a kink in it, it will always tend to bend in the same place again.  And so although our original sin is wiped away, that capacity, that tendency to sin remains in us, in the same place wherever that is for us.  And we therefore are more accustomed to darkness then to light.  And so each year we come back to this holy and joyful season of Lent when we open ourselves to the healing touch of Jesus, prepare ourselves once more by His grace to see the world anew in the blazing furnace of the Paschal fire.  A light lit in a darkened tomb two thousand years ago which will never more be put out.  Which cannot be overcome.  This is the new life we are given.  In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Mary TV: March 24, 2017 Update from Denis! - A Response to the National Catholic Register

Mary TV!
Be connected!

March 24, 2017

"Faithful Await Vatican Verdict on Medjugorje:
Cardinal Francis Arinze, whose new book about Marian veneration will be released this month, tells the Register 'it's not so simple' for Rome to rule on the matter."

It's puzzling that the March 14, 2017 National Catholic Register article (headline above) didn't cite anyone who was well-informed on Medjugorje.  The principal sources for the story were veteran anti-Medjugorje partisans Donel Foley and Bishop Ratko Peric (see:http://marytv.tv/?cat=5 ).  Perhaps things are "not so simple" because articles like this amplify and propagate the confusion they themselves create.

In an older variation of their assault on the apparition, Foley and Peric wield as their weapon early transcripts of conversations with the visionaries.

These transcripts are "the key to understanding Medjugorje," Foley believes, as they "reveal the serious problems with accepting the visions as genuinely supernatural," an aspect he highlighted in his book.  Foley hopes that more people will pay attention to them, and he would like the Vatican to publish "an agreed and authentic" multilingual version of the transcripts to help the ordinary faithful "better understand the phenomena of Medjugorje."

What Foley does not mention, although he is well aware of it, is that the version of the transcripts he cites was produced at the beginning of the phenomenon by two local Communist Party members operating under orders to end the apparitions. The two members were the nephew and niece of Fr. Ivo Sivric, a Croatian priest who moved to the USA a long time ago.  When his relatives fell into disgrace for their efforts, Fr. Sivric sought to sabotage Medjugorje by publishing doctored versions of the transcript in English.  Foley, E. Michael Jones and others then built their whole case against Medjugorje around these transcripts.

The whole affair calls to mind the famous "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" produced by anti-Semites but publicized as having been written by Jews - and then used to justify attacks on the Jews. Anyone can write transcripts - and if it came from a declared enemy why should I trust them if I can't listen to the actual tapes?

All this "he said-she said" kind of argument may have left the debate in the same situation as that reported by the Register if not for one major recent headline not mentioned in the story or by Foley, Peric, et al.  Authentic transcripts of the actual tape-recorded conversations were recently published as Medjugorje: The First Days by Fr. James Mulligan.  The book has "a full, un-redacted transcript of 22 tape recorded interviews and on-the-spot commentaries with the visionaries." A comparison between these transcripts and the snarky Sivric version not only exposes the deceit of the latter but also testifies to the transparency and innocence of the visionaries in the first days of the apparition! They support the authenticity of the apparition rather than the other way around as Foley-Peric would have us believe.

In an additional attempt to cast aspersions on these events, the article draws attention to what it thinks reveals Pope Francis' negative opinion of Medjugorje:

Some believe he appeared to allude to the apparitions when, in a talk to 140 superiors general of male religious orders and congregations last November he said the real Madonna is not "at the head of a post office," every day sending "a different letter that says, "my children, do this, and then the next day do that."

It's more likely the pope was referring to the apparitions in San Nicolas, Argentina, with which he is very familiar, and not Medjugorje.   After returning from Rome last week, Bishop Hugo Santiago, of San Nicolás, declared the on-going messages being given by Our Lady there could no longer be disseminated (March 18, 2017, "Crux"). In sharp contrast the pope is sending his personal envoy to Medjugorje next week to oversee the pastoral care of pilgrims who are coming from all over the world.  And the Papal envoy hasn't concealed his joy! ("Archbishop Henryk Hoser to Aleteia: We should not be worried about Medjugorje!" Aleteia, March 15, 2017,  Read Article)

The Register's article notes:

For Cardinal Arinze, the pastoral effects of Medjugorje are "the most important thing.  If the effects are good," he said, "we rejoice."

Important for Cardinal Francis Arinze are the positive effects Medjugorje has had on the faithful who visit. "One point that is not doubted is that people who go there actually repent.  They actually go to confession, go to Mass -- that is, they become better Christians.... So it is a shrine."

On October 10, 2007 Cardinal Arinze thanked me for my book, "Medjugorje and the Church".  "May God bless you for the great diligence put into producing this well-documented work which I shall read with great interest."  For 25 years, readers of Catholic print media in the US have been bombarded with dishonest reporting on Medjugorje.  I suggest their readers take a look at my book (which carries a Nihil Obstat) to consider the other side.  (Medjugorje and the Church, Queenship Publishing)

The Cenacolo Christmas Play - the Annunciation!

March 24, 2017

Dear Family of Mary!

Tomorrow we expect to receive the monthly message from Our Lady. It will also be the Feast of the Annunciation!!! What a great day to receive a message from Our Lady.

In preparation I suggest that we read and pray over again, the Gospel account of the Annunciation, and then the message we received on February 25. This way we can prepare to hear from Our Lady again, as we honor her as the great Mother of God!!

The Gospel for the Annunciation:

In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, "Hail, O favored one, the Lord is with you!" But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.
He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High;
and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,
and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever;
and of his kingdom there will be no end."
And Mary said to the angel, "How shall this be, since I have no husband?"
And the angel said to her,
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you;
therefore the child to be born will be called holy,
the Son of God.
And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible." And Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her. (Luke 1: 26-38)
And Our Lady's Message from last month:
"Dear children! Today I am calling you to profoundly live your faith and to implore the Most High to strengthen it, so that winds and storms cannot break it. May the roots of your faith be prayer and hope in eternal life. Already now, little children, work on yourselves in this time of grace, wherein God is giving you the grace - through renunciation and the call to conversion - to be people of clear and persevering faith and hope. Thank you for having responded to my call." February 25, 2017
At the Annunciation, Our Lady had great courage built upon her great faith. She responded to the Angel Gabriel with honesty, candor, and purity. She was ready to give herself to God completely. And she did! This is the kind of faith that has deep roots and strong branches. May we grow to be like her, even a little bit, in our little lives. Who knows what God can do through us!!

Mary TV March 23, 2017 Reflection - Be vigilant and open for truth.

Saint Turibius of Mongrovejo

Dear Family of Mary!
"Dear children! With a full heart I am asking you, I am imploring you children: cleanse your hearts of sin and lift them up to God and to eternal life. I am imploring you: be vigilant and open for truth. Do not permit for all that is of this earth to distance you from the true cognition of the contentment in the communion with my Son. I am leading you on the way of true wisdom, because only with true wisdom can you come to know true peace and the true good. Do not waste time asking for signs of the Heavenly Father, because He has already given you the greatest sign, which is my Son. Therefore, my children, pray so that the Holy Spirit can lead you into truth, can help you to come to know it, and through that knowledge of the truth that you may be one with the Heavenly Father and with my Son. That is the cognition which gives happiness on earth and opens the door of eternal life and infinite love. Thank you." (March 18, 2015)

Fr. Leon gave a powerful homily yesterday on how we interpret Scripture and how it can inform our lives, our choices. I thought I would reproduce it for you so you can chew on it. Fr. Leon is trying to help us understand how to discern the Truth. It is very good.

Fr. Leon Pereira's Homily on March 22, 2017:

If I were to give you all a copy of "The Wizard of Oz" and you read the book, there would be as many interpretations of this book as there you! Some of you would come away thinking that the wizard was a great man, some of you would think he is a megalomaniac, some of you would think he is a coward, or a frightened man. Some of you would come away loving the munchkins. Others would think they are a nuisance. But there would be as many interpretations as the number of pilgrims who had received a copy of "The Wizard of Oz" from me.

To read is to interpret. Therefore, when someone says to you something like, "Where is that in the Bible?", this becomes automatically one of the silliest questions they can ask. Because as soon as you read it you are interpreting it. So you have to say, "Well, how do I know that your interpretation is correct?" How do you know mine isn't better than yours? And how do you know that we are even able to read these things by ourselves and somehow magically come to an understanding?

Jesus is the lens through which we read the Scripture. We have Holy Mother Church to interpret the Scriptures for us. But Jesus is the lens through which we see and understand the Scriptures. What do I mean?

For example, in the Old Testament there is a law that adulterers are to be stoned to death. Why don't we stone adulterers? Because of Jesus, because of what He did. When the adulterous woman was brought before Him, He said, "Let He who is without sin cast the first stone." He didn't' say don't stone her. He just said to let whoever is without sin be the first. So He didn't abolish the law, He perfects the law and fulfills it. And that is why we don't stone adulterers. Mostly because we would be stoning ourselves. OK?

Think of another example. In the Old Testament Jesus says "Because of the hardness of your hearts, Moses gave the children of Israel divorce." You can divorce your wife and marry another for whatever reason basically, is what it boils down to. If she is displeasing in your sight. But Jesus says, "It was not so from the beginning." Then He completes and perfects the law. He says, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery and etc. If a divorced woman marries someone else, she commits adultery. This doesn't come from man, but from Jesus Himself. He completes and perfects the law.

It becomes difficult for us, because our lives are complicated. We make them complicated somehow. Through original sin, through our selfishness, through chance, through all sorts of reasons. But then to say therefore that Christ must meet me where I am, is a bit of a strange thing to say. Christ does meet us where we are, but imagine if where you are, is at the bottom of a well. If you say, God should meet me where I am, the Church should meet me where I am.  Come down to the bottom of the well and sit by me and we will drown together. That's not going to solve anyone's problems. Christ comes and meets us where we are so that He can lift us up to where He is. That is a very important point. We don't stay down there in the mud or in the depths of the well. But Christ comes to lift us up. And when we say it's impossible for man, Jesus says, "Yes I said that already. But all things are possible for God."

When people bandy around this catch phrase, "The Eucharist is not a reward for the strong, it is medicine for the weak." Then you have to ask yourself who is the strong person? It is the person who says, "I don't need to repent. I don't need the Eucharist. I'm not going to repent." That is the strong person. And the weak one is the one who's says, "I have sinned. Have mercy on me. Forgive me and help me."

So remember many people will come, lying to us and trying to falsify the Gospel. But Jesus is the lens through which we read and understand the Scriptures. He told us He is the Truth and He has come to bear witness to the Truth. And in these latter days, men will have itching ears, wanting all kinds of unsound teachings. Willing to run away as soon as a pied piper comes along with false teachings. But we know what Jesus Himself said, and we know that He is the Truth. And even if it is hard for us to live by the Truth, Jesus has the grace for us to live by it.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Live God's Commandments

J.M.J.
March 22, 2017

Dear Family of Mary!

In today's Gospel reading, Jesus makes it clear to us that we must live the Commandments of God. They are not old fashioned or out of date. They carry in them the seeds of a beautiful life, a life that is fruitful and just, a life that is clean and trustworthy. Jesus tells us:

Jesus said to his disciples:
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.
I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away,
not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter
will pass from the law,
until all things have taken place.
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments
and teaches others to do so
will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven.
But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments
will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven." (Mt 5:17-19)

Our Lady has also told us to live the Commandments of God, that our lives might be good. Here are 5 messages in which she calls us to the Commandments. Listen to what she says about the commandments and why we need them. They are for our good. You could use these messages for meditation during your Rosary today!

May 25, 2010 "Dear children! God gave you the grace to live and to defend all the good that is in you and around you, and to inspire others to be better and holier; but satan, too, does not sleep and through modernism diverts you and leads you to his way. Therefore, little children, in the love for my Immaculate Heart, love God above everything and live His commandments. In this way, your life will have meaning and peace will rule on earth. Thank you for having responded to my call."
February 25, 2015 "Dear children! In this time of grace, I call all of you: pray more and speak less. In prayer seek the will of God and live it according to the commandments to which God calls you. I am with you and am praying with you. Thank you for having responded to my call."

January 25, 2016 "Dear children! Also today I am calling all of you to prayer. You cannot live without prayer, because prayer is a chain which brings you closer to God. Therefore, little children, in humility of heart return to God and to His commandments so that with all of your heart you are able to say: as it is in Heaven so may it be on earth. You, little children, are free to in freedom decide for God or against Him. See where Satan wants to pull you into sin and slavery. Therefore, little children, return to my heart so that I can lead you to my Son Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Thank you for having responded to my call."

June 25, 2016 "Dear children! Give thanks to God with me for the gift of my being with you. Pray, little children, and live God's commandments that it may be good for you on earth. Today, on this day of grace, I desire to give you my motherly blessing of peace and of my love. I intercede for you with my Son and call you to persevere in prayer so that, with you, I can realize my plans. Thank you for having responded to my call."

December 2, 2007 She blessed all of us, and all religious articles. Our Lady was very sad. All the time her eyes were filled with tears.
"Dear children! Today, while I am looking at your hearts, my heart is filled with pain and trepidation. My children, stop for a moment and look into your hearts. Is my Son, your God truly in the first place? Are His commandments truly the measure of your life? I am warning you again: without faith there is neither closeness of God nor the word of God which is the light of salvation and the light of common sense."
Mirjana added: I painfully asked Our Lady not to leave us, and not to take her hands away from us. She painfully smiled at my request and left. This time Our Lady did not say: Thank you.
And here are the 10 Commandments. They are the bedrock of a good Confession (along with the Beatitudes and the Precepts of the Church).

The Ten Commandments:
  1. I am the LORD your God. You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.
  2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
  3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.
  4. Honor your father and your mother.
  5. You shall not kill.
  6. You shall not commit adultery.
  7. You shall not steal.
  8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
  10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.
These are core values that always lead us in the right direction!

Mary TV March 21, 2017 Reflection - It is from the face of God that joy flows out....

Jesus, we long to see your face....

J.M.J.
March 21, 2017

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! My motherly desire is for your hearts to be filled with peace, and for your souls to be pure so that in the presence of my Son you could see His face..." (March 18, 2017)

I want to share a couple of passages from St. Faustina's diary about seeing Jesus' face. And then one email from our shipmate, Penny, who had an experience of seeing Jesus' face in Medjugorje!

St. Faustina had a very intimate relationship with Jesus. He would often show her His face. Here is one example, that happened during Lent:

This morning I heard these words: From today until the [celebration of the] Resurrection, you will not feel My presence, but your soul will be filled with great longing. And immediately a great longing filled my soul; I felt a separation from my beloved Jesus, and when the moment for Holy Communion came, I saw the suffering Face of Jesus in every Host [contained] in the chalice. From that moment, I felt a more intense yearning in my heart. (Diary, 413)

Imagine how St. Faustina must have felt at seeing Jesus' face on each host. Truly He is present in the Eucharist. Here is another moment, during Holy Week:

Holy Hour. -Thursday. During this hour of prayer, Jesus allowed me to enter the Cenacle, and I was a witness to what happened there. However, I was most deeply moved when, before the Consecration, Jesus raised His eyes to heaven and entered into a mysterious conversation with His Father. It is only in eternity that we shall really understand that moment. His eyes were like two flames; His face was radiant, white as snow; His whole personage full of majesty, His soul full of longing. At the moment of Consecration, love rested satiated-the sacrifice fully consummated. Now only the external ceremony of death will be carried out-external destruction; the essence [of it] is in the Cenacle. Never in my whole life had I understood this mystery so profoundly as during that hour of adoration. Oh, how ardently I desire that the whole world would come to know this unfathomable mystery.  (Dairy, 684)

And finally a glimpse of heaven, and how the Face of God is experienced there:

February 10, 1938. During meditation, the Lord gave me knowledge of the joy of heaven and of the saints on our arrival there; they love God as the sole object of their love, but they also have a tender and heartfelt love for us. It is from the face of God that this joy flows out upon all, because we see Him face to face. His face is so sweet that the soul falls anew into ecstasy. (Diary, 1592)

"It is from the face of God that this joy flows out upon all, because we see Him face to face!!! His face is so sweet that the souls falls anew into ecstasy." WOW!!!

Now for Penny's amazing experience in Medjugorje.

Just saw your reflection, Cathy, and I hear Denis talking about seeing the face of Jesus every day.  First of all, Denis, I totally love your enthusiasm ++!  Wanted to share that when I was first in Medjugorje in 1997, I was sitting on the balcony at Matia's home (near Apparition Hill)  with friend Phyllis.   It was a very cloudy day and we were just sitting there at peace...when from left to right, the face of Jesus came past us in the clouds.  We didn't say anything to each other and continued to sit there...until His face came along again from left to right in the clouds. (it was windy and the clouds were blowing from left to right).  At that point I asked her if she'd seen what I'd seen -- literally -- "did you see what I saw?"  Yes, she said she had.  I don't think we ever described what we'd seen to one another, we just knew. I think about this each time Denis mentions seeing the face of Jesus.  I also think that we CAN see the face of Jesus in one another.  That's more difficult for me and makes me think about loving unconditionally.  Penny

What a blessing for Penny! And, yes Penny, you are right. We can see the face of Jesus in one another, if we have His heart. Somehow His image and likeness show through, when we are loving Him in each other!

Well, let's keep longing to see Jesus' face. It is Our Lady's wish for us!

Mary TV March 20, 2017 Reflection - Pray that you may see His Face!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017

J.M.J.
March 20, 2017
St. Joseph, the Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! My motherly desire is for your hearts to be filled with peace, and for your souls to be pure so that in the presence of my Son you could see His face. Because, my children, as a mother I know that you thirst for consolation, hope and protection. You, my children, consciously and unconsciously are seeking my Son. I also, as I passed the time on earth, rejoiced, suffered and patiently endured pains, until my Son, in all His glory, removed them. And that is why I am saying to my Son: help them always. You, my children, with true love, illuminate the darkness of selfishness which all the more envelopes my children. Be generous. May both your hands and heart always be open. Do not be afraid. Abandon yourselves to my Son with trust and hope. As you look towards Him, live life with love. To love means to give oneself, to endure, and never to judge. To love means to live the words of my Son. My children, as a mother I am speaking to you: only true love leads to eternal happiness. Thank you." (March 18, 2017)

Denis has been talking about "seeing Jesus' face" almost every day during the Rosary. For some reason he is intent on receiving this grace. Our Lady has brought it up at least three time in the past year. Here are the quotes:

"Dear children! My motherly desire is for your hearts to be filled with peace, and for your souls to be pure so that in the presence of my Son you could see His face..."

My children, my Son is looking at you. Pray that you also may see His face and that it may be revealed to you..." (September 2, 2016)

My children, all those who love my Son can see Him, because His face can be seen through the souls which are filled with love for Him. Therefore, my children, my apostles, listen to me. Leave vanity and selfishness. Do not live only for what is earthly and material. Love my Son and make it so that others may see His face through your love for Him. I will help you to come to know Him all the more. I will speak to you about Him. Thank you." (March 2, 2016)

I wonder what Our Lady means by this. Certainly she is telling us that to see the face of Jesus is a gift from God. It is not something natural. It is a revelation, "Pray that you also may see His face and that it may be revealed to you." And she seems to be saying that we need to be in a certain state of grace to receive this gift, "My motherly desire is for your hearts to be filled with peace, and for your souls to be pure so that in the presence of my Son you could see His face..." In fact she tells us, "All those who love my Son can see Him..."

So seeing the Face of Jesus is a gift, a revelation, received by those who strive for peace, purity and love for Jesus. It is a gift for those who seek Jesus. Our Lady tells us to pray to see Jesus' face. So I have included three prayers in honor of Jesus' Holy Face that may be of some help to us.

Holy Face of Jesus, Be my joy.
Holy Face of Jesus, Be my strength.
Holy Face of Jesus, Be my health.
Holy Face of Jesus, Be my courage.
Holy Face of Jesus, Be my wisdom.
Holy Face of Jesus, Image of the Father, Provide for me.
Holy Face of Jesus, Mirror of Thy Priestly Heart, Be my zeal.
Holy Face of Jesus, Gift of the Spirit, Show me Thy love.
Holy Face of Jesus, saddened by sorrow, Grant my requests through Thy merits.
Amen.

"O Jesus, who, in Thy cruel Passion didst become the 'reproach of men and the Man of Sorrows,' I worship Thy divine Face. Once it shone with the beauty and sweetness of the Divinity; but now, for my sake, it is become as 'the face of a leper.' Yet, in that disfigured Countenance, I recognize Thy infinite love, and I am consumed with the desire of making Thee loved by all mankind. The tears that flowed so abundantly from Thy Eyes are to me as precious pearls that I delight to gather, that with their worth I may ransom the souls of poor sinners. O Jesus, whose Face is the sole beauty that ravishes my heart, I may not see here below the sweetness of Thy glance, nor feel the ineffable tenderness of Thy kiss, I bow to Thy Will-but I pray Thee to imprint in me Thy divine likeness, and I implore Thee so to inflame me with Thy love, that it may quickly consume me, and that I may soon reach the vision of Thy glorious Face in heaven. Amen." (St. Therese of the Child Jesus and of the Holy Face)

Litany to the Holy Face of Jesus (St. Mary of St. Peter, Carmelite)
Repeat after each invocation:
Have mercy on us
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face Mary and Joseph worshipped with profoundest reverence,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face ravished with joy the angels, shepherds and Magi in the stable at Bethlehem,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face wounded with a dart of Love the aged Simeon and the prophetess Anna in the temple,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face was bathed in tears in Thy Holy Infancy,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face at the age of twelve astonished the doctors in the temple,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is white with purity, and ruddy with charity,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is more beautiful than the sun, brighter than the moon and more brilliant than the stars,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is lovelier than the roses of spring,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is more precious than gold, silver, and gems,
O Jesus, the charms and grace of Whose Adorable Face win all hearts,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is most noble in Its heavenly features,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is the admiration of angels,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is the sweet delight of the saints,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is the masterpiece of the Holy Spirit in which the Father is well pleased,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face was the delight of Thy Virgin Mother and of Thy holy foster-father, St. Joseph,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is the ineffable mirror of Divine perfections,
O Jesus, the beauty of Whose Adorable Face is ever ancient and ever new,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face appeases the Divine wrath,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is the terror of the evil spirits,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face is the treasure of graces and blessings,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face was exposed to the inclemency of the weather in the desert,
O Jesus, Whose Adorable Face was scorched by the sun and bathed in sweat on Thy journeys,
O Jesus, the expression of whose Adorable Face is Wholly Divine,
O Jesus, the modesty and mildness of whose Adorable Face attracted both just and sinners,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face gave a holy kiss and blessing to the little children,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face sorrowed and wept at the grave of Lazarus,
V. The light of Thy Face has been shed upon us, O lord;
R. Thou hast given joy to our hearts.

Let us pray:
I salute Thee, I adore Thee, O Adorable Face of Jesus, my Beloved, noble seal of the Divinity. With all the powers of my soul I apply myself to Thee, and most humbly pray Thee imprint in us all the features of Thy Divine likeness. Amen

Repeat after each invocation:
Have mercy on us
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face grew sad at the sight of Jerusalem and wept over that ungrateful city,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face bowed to the earth in the Garden of Olives because of the burden of our sins,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was bathed in bloody sweat,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was kissed by Judas, the traitor,
O Jesus, the power of whose Adorable Face smote the soldiers to the ground in the Garden of Olives,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was struck by a vile servant, derided by enemies and desecrated by their unholy hand,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was defiled by spittle and bruised by blows,
O Jesus, the Divine look of Whose Adorable Face wounded Peter's heart with love and sorrow,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was humbled for us before the tribunals of Jerusalem,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face preserved Its attractiveness and dignity when Pilate pronounced the death sentence,
O Jesus, the brow of whose Adorable Face was crowned with thorns,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was covered with bloody sweat which fell to the ground under the Cross,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face is worthy of all our reverence, veneration and worship,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face the pious Veronica wiped on the way to Calvary,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was lifted up on the tortuous Cross,
O Jesus, the eyes of whose Adorable Face shed tears of Blood,
O Jesus, the mouth of whose Adorable Face was tormented with vinegar and gall,
O Jesus, the hair and beard of whose Adorable Face were plucked out by the executioners,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was disfigured like that of a leper,
O Jesus, the incomparable beauty of whose Adorable Face was disfigured by the sins of the world,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was overcast by the mournful shadows of death,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was washed, anointed and wrapped in a shroud by Mary and the holy women,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was laid to rest in the grave,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was resplendent in beauty on the day of Thy Resurrection,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face was radiant in glory on the day of Thy ascension,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face is hidden in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face will appear on the clouds at the end of the world in great power and majesty,
O Jesus, whose Adorable Face is the joy of the Just in Heaven,
V. O Lord, show us Thy Face;
R. And we shall be saved.

Let us pray:
We beseech Thee, O Almighty and merciful God, grant us and all who venerate the Countenance of Thy dearly beloved Son, all disfigured by our sins, the grace to behold It throughout eternity in the glory of Its majesty, through the same Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Finally, this is the Feast Day of dear St. Joseph. Our Lady and St. Joseph are the two people on earth who saw the Face of Jesus the most!! He must have kissed those baby cheeks thousands of time, and looked into the eyes of Jesus with such love countless times in his childhood. Oh St. Joseph, pray for us to see the Face of Jesus!

Several thousand people were at the Blue Cross for Mirjana’s apparition this afternoon. Several pilgrims from the Caritas March Pilgrimage went up to the Blue Cross at 4:00 a.m. this morning to spend their day in prayer, preparing to be in the presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary. By 12:00 noon, there was still a lot of space on the side of the mountain and surrounding the Blue Cross, but then the crowds began to arrive and a continuous stream of pilgrims arrived at the Blue Cross up to the time of the apparition. Mirjana arrived at the Blue Cross around 1:35 p.m. Our Lady arrived about 10 minutes later and the apparition lasted almost 4 ½ minutes. The following is Mirjana’s annual March 18, 2017 message from Our Lady. More languages follow below:

“Dear children! My motherly desire is for your hearts to be filled with peace, and for your souls to be pure so that in the presence of my Son you could see His face. Because, my children, as a mother I know that you thirst for consolation, hope and protection. You, my children, consciously and unconsciously are seeking my Son. Sr. Emmanuel's NewsLetter from Medjugorje March 2017

From the Desk of Sr. Emmanuel Maillard

March 15, 2017

Dear Children of Medjugorje, praised be Jesus and Mary!

1.  On March 2, 2017, Mirjana received her monthly apparition at the Blue Cross.

After the apparition, she shared with us the following message from Our Lady:

"Dear children, with motherly love I am coming to help you to have more love and that means more faith. I am coming to help you to live with love the words of my Son, so that the world would be different. Therefore, apostles of my love, I am gathering you around myself. Look at me with the heart, speak to me as to a mother about your pains, sufferings and your joys. Ask me to pray to my Son for you. My Son is merciful and just. My motherly heart would desire for you also to be like that. My motherly heart would desire that you, apostles of my love, speak of my Son and of me to all those around you with your life; so that the world would be different; that simplicity and purity would return; that faith and hope would return. Therefore, my children, pray, pray, pray with the heart, pray with love, pray with good works. Pray that everyone would come to know my Son, so that the world would change, that the world would be saved. With love live the words of my Son. Do not judge, instead love one another so that my heart could triumph. Thank you."

See a video of Mirjana receiving the apparition here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB5MeugJYCU

Don't forget! Mirjana's birthday is March 18th, and, as usual, she will receive an apparition on that day.

2. What I Learned in Egypt

Last month I had the joy of being able to return to Egypt. Many had told me: "Don't go, it's dangerous!" But where is the danger these days? Isn't there just as much danger in Paris, Nice, or Brussels, where we had bombings lately? The real danger is not being where God calls us!

In her March 2nd message, Mary told us twice that she comes to help us. That reminds me of what I learned while visiting a small church hidden in the narrow, crowded streets, in the oldest part of Cairo. That Church is where one of the three icons, of the Blessed Virgin Mary, painted by the Apostle Luke, is kept. This icon of the Blessed Mother is called "El Ezbaweya". (Two other paintings of St. Luke are located in Rome, and Jerusalem.)

This is a miraculous icon. Many Christians and non-Christians come here to honor the Mother of God who is shown with the child Jesus. Some spend hours in front of her, seated on the floor, mumbling a mix of praise and supplications. Among the many miracles that have occurred in this place, one of them, narrated by the Coptic priest in charge of this shrine, really touched me.

In the 1940s, during World War II, a woman of Greek nationality came to Cairo, and for 12 days she stood at the feet of the Blessed Virgin, tearfully praying and pleading with her. Every day, she would make a new offering. What happened was that her son had joined the British army and was then sent to Lebanon. He sent letters to his mother regularly, but in his latest letter he had told her that he was sick. After that...she received not one word from him! Complete silence! She was not receiving any more news, so that this poor mother was afraid that something bad had happened to her son, perhaps even that he had died. So she had come from very far to implore the assistance of El Ezbaweya, begging her to look after her son over there in Lebanon, to keep him healthy and bring him back.

One day, the priest found her very early in the morning standing in front of the door of the Church, radiant with joy. She told him that she had received a letter from her son. He thanked his mother saying: "Mom, thank you for the lady you sent me! I was very sick, but this lady came to me and she brought me some medicine. She told me: 'Your mother sent me to you!' The medication she brought me is what healed me. I took it and I am healed!' I asked her to tell me her name, and she said: 'My name is El Ezbaweya'." (Her son did not know this name at all).

The priest concluded: "The Lady El Ezbaweya has replied to the prayers, the tears and the praises of a mother!"

3. Don't forget St. Joseph! On March 19th, we will joyfully celebrate him!
Those who have not yet started the Novena, and wish to, will have to "train-hop" so to speak. Meaning that you can still hop on the train of the novena and end it after St. Joseph's feast day.

Following in the footsteps of the Holy Family in Egypt makes us realize how this man, chosen by God, was able to take care of his family under the worst possible conditions! As political refugees under constant threat from Herod's spies, despised by people because of their poverty, Joseph, Mary and Jesus owe their survival to Providence alone! Their unshakable confidence in God's purposes and their mutual love enabled them to undergo this trial and grow stronger because of it. What a magnificent example for us, whose families are bombarded as never before by the destroyer!

Indeed, though Satan is always eager to subvert and break what God created from the beginning, namely the holy nest of life that is the family, nevertheless the Creator is all the more present to pour out his special graces to all families that really trust in Him! The sacrament of marriage is incomparably rich, because it places the family under the blessing of God. In our day, who wouldn't want to be covered by the blessing of God? Of course, if you asked for such a blessing, you cannot at the same time act in a way that displeases Him. The world is pushing us to step on the Word of God, which is life because it is God, but St. Joseph will help us to keep it and treasure it!

Among the praises addressed to St. Joseph in his litany (see our site), there is one that we should mention now more than ever before, "Joseph most chaste." Just recently we have seen a horrible campaign to pervert children through pornography, cleverly imposed by the Ministry of Education and the media. The Lord Jesus, though He is so merciful, spoke clearly against those who would scandalize a child (see PS 1). Woe unto us! Destroying the innocence of children is criminal. Our entire future will be seriously disordered and our children's potential for affection very wounded, even deviated. God can repair everything with much prayer and care but so many intimate sufferings could be avoided if only we would see the violence of pornography. St. Joseph, please protect the children!

Saint Joseph, my tender father,
I place myself forever under your protection.
Consider me as your child and protect me from all sin.
I throw myself into your arms so that you may carry me on the way of holiness.

(A song composed in French, used for our morning prayer in Medjugorje)
4. Living Lent, Easter Is Next Month!

For the weeks of lent that we still have to live, here are three ideas to make them more fruitful:

-      Every time I am tempted to grab my cell phone to call someone, I will ask myself, "Is it really necessary?" If I can avoid this call, I will replace it with a short prayer calling for the blessing of God upon that person and the entire world. Decide to never judge.

-      I will make the sign of the Cross over me - the right way - as Mary taught it to St. Bernadette in Lourdes, during the first apparition on February 11, 1858. On that day Bernadette just could not make the sign of the Cross. Then, Our Lady made, in front her her, a VERY wide and slow movement from the forehead to the belly button across the chest from left to right. From that day on, Bernadette made the sign of the Cross over herself with great reverence and piety. Actually, by this sign, we invoke God three times holy. The exchange of love between the three persons of the Trinity begins working within us. The sign of the Cross well made, with the heart, has the power of exorcism! It reminds the enemy how and by whom he has been defeated forever: Jesus on the Cross. One of my assistants was converted just by making the sign of the Cross one day. In one moment, she believed in God and started changing her life. For her, it was like an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

-      Every day, at home, read some verses from the Bible, especially the text of the daily Mass, even if you went to daily Mass. Pick up one word that strikes you the most, repeat it, chew on it, ponder it, be nurtured by it throughout the day. Then share it with your family or friends or neighbors, helping others to learn from the Word of God, which is light unto our steps.
