Dear Family of Mary!
"Dear children! Also today I am praying to the Holy Spirit to fill your hearts with a strong faith. Prayer and faith will fill your heart with love and joy and you will be a sign for those who are far from God. Little children, encourage each other to prayer with the heart, so that prayer may fulfill your life; and each day, you, little children, will be, above all, witnesses of serving God in adoration and of your neighbor in need. I am with you and intercede for all of you. Thank you for having responded to my call." (September 25, 2015)
Our Lady is praying to the Holy Spirit for us. She has a special relationship with the Holy Spirit. She is His spouse!! The Holy Spirit will do whatever she asks! So we should be very confident that her prayer will be answered.
How will this answered prayer be manifest in us? That is the question. And the answer is as unique and varied as we are unique and individual. Each of us has our own history with God. No two lives are identical. And so the Holy Spirit will approach each of us in the way that we will most understand and be open to.
I was talking to a dear friend yesterday and she was sharing with me her experiences in Medjugorje. She explained that she went to Medjugorje with no expectations. She actually was going along mostly because her husband and daughter were excited about going. She was happy to go, but did not have a deep urging. But while in Medjugorje she experienced a series of coincidences that surprised her.
One of these coincidences involved seeing the moon during daylight hours. She heard other people exclaiming that they could see Our Lady in the moon. She didn't see her. But when she looked again, she asked them if Our Lady was standing in profile looking to her left? They said yes!!! Then she realized she did see her. Other experiences followed!
Her pilgrim group told her these were not coincidences but "God" incidences! And she said those moments increased her faith.
I believe that God gives us little nudges, "God" incidences if you will, when He is encouraging us, speaking to our hearts, just letting us know that He is near. God likes to accompany us along our journey in life. He doesn't barge in with trumpets and tempests, but quietly sidles up beside us as we walk along, joining our mental conversation much like Jesus did with the disciples on the way to Emmaus. This is how gentle and respectful our God is. The Holy Spirit wants to join us on our way, giving us little nudges and "ah-ha" moments when we need them.
Our hearts will grow in faith and we will be strengthened if we attend to that almost silent companion, the Holy Spirit, as He pours His love into our hearts and shows us little signs of His presence.
Oh, Holy Spirit!! Come!!!!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
