Dear Family of Mary!
"Dear children! Also today I am calling you to be prayer. May prayer be for you the wings for an encounter with God. The world is in a moment of trial, because it forgot and abandoned God. Therefore you, little children, be those who seek and love God above all. I am with you and I am leading you to my Son, but you must say your 'yes' in the freedom of children of God. I intercede for you and I love you, little children, with an endless love. Thank you for having responded to my call." (August 25, 2015)
"You must say your 'yes' in the freedom of children of God." This statement has great meaning for us in our time. The word freedom has been misused and abused by our societies, until it now seems to serve evil instead of good. Freedom is the great gift God gave to us at creation, because he desired that we fall in love with Him and choose Him because He is lovable above all else. He wanted us to choose Him as He chose us.
In the Vatican II document, Gaudium et spes, we are given guidance on how to understand our dignity and freedom. Here is a passage from that document:
Human dignity requires one to act through conscious and free choice, as motivated and prompted personally from within, and not through blind impulse or merely external pressure. People achieve such dignity when they free themselves from all subservience to their feelings, and in a free choice of the good, pursue their own end by effectively and assiduously marshalling the appropriate means. (GS 17; VS 21)
Our dignity comes from being created by God with a free will, a free will that desires the Good, even God. Though we may want to love and value God above all else, we may weaken our free will by attaching ourselves to the things of this world in such a way that they cloud our vision of what is good and true, in fact we may lose sight of God Himself. We become enslaved to those things, feeling that we need them. It is then that we are unable to choose God, in all His loveliness. We have forfeited our true freedom for that which is not God.
Our Lady wants us to recover our lives as the children of God. She wants us to be free to choose God and desire Him above all else. She wants us to truly be free, not enslaved to lesser things. It is then that we will "pursue our own end" which is our union with God by using our freedom to do the good.

She is with us to help us. She prays for us. And she models this dignity to us. She made the choice at the Annunciation to say "yes" as a child of God. And she lived that "yes" all the way to Golgotha. Her "yes" has opened the way for our salvation. Our own "yes" to God, exercising our freedom to choose Him, will in some small way help others to find their own end, which is union with God.
We are so blessed to have Our Lady with us to show us true dignity. Her example shines so brightly! We want to grow in the freedom that she so beautifully lived. We want to be able to say "yes" in the freedom of children of God.
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
