St. Martha

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! With joy I am with you also today and I call all of you, little children, pray, pray, pray so as to comprehend the love which I have for you. My love is stronger than evil, little children, therefore draw closer to God so as to feel my joy in God. Without God, little children, you do not have a future, you do not have hope or salvation; therefore leave evil and choose good. I am with you and, with you, I intercede before God for all of your needs. Thank you for having responded to my call." (July 25, 2015)

"...therefore draw closer to God so as to feel my joy in God."

Our Lady thought it was important for us to know about her joy in God. So she recounted to St. Luke her encounter with St. Elizabeth, the mother of St. John the Baptist. St. Luke wrote down the whole thing, starting with Our Lady's greeting to Elizabeth, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Elizabeth and John (who leapt in her womb!) and then the wonderful canticle of joy that Mary sang:

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
My spirit rejoices in God my Savior
For he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:
The almighty has done great things for me,
And holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him
In every generation.

He has shown the strength of his arm,
He has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
And lifted up the lowly.

He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel
For he has remembered his promise of mercy,
The promise he made to our fathers,
To Abraham and his children for ever. (Luke 1:46-55)

I believe that she wanted to communicate her joy to all the generations after her. What was this joy? It was the fulfillment of God's promise to Adam and Eve, to Abraham, to Isaac, to Jacob, to David, to the prophets, and now to us. It is Jesus, the coming of the Messiah, He who has defeated the enemy of man, and given us the possibility of life eternal with God in heaven through His act of salvific love.

Our Lady wants us to feel her eternal, heavenly, impossibly intense joy in God, as it pulses through her heart to all of us! She is exultant because the victory has been won!!! God has looked with favor upon her. God has done GREAT things for her!! God has shown His incredible mercy for all who fear Him, who love Him. He has shown His strength, driven away the proud, cast down the mighty, and sent the rich away empty while he has lifted up the lowly, fed the hungry, and remembered His promises to his children. All this has been done by the coming of Jesus. And Our Lady could not be more jubilant, more filled with light and joy!

If we draw close to God we will become more and more aware of this great victory He has won, and we will feel Our Lady's joy, we will be exultant like she is at what God has done and is doing!!! The closer to God we get, the more joy we will have, Mary's joy.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
